MFP iOS Calorie Adjustment
I always log my cardio manually, which is typically 65-70 min of a 3.5 MPH walk. When I do this, it usually gives me around 250 exercise calories (give or take). For the last 2 days, the app has been adding hundreds of exercise calories. Yesterday, after my walk, I had about 11,000 steps for the day. Then, just before…

This post will require some participation. Are you physically able to raise your hand? If so play along. Who is tired of all the threads about plateaus and asking for advice about how often to weigh – show of hands? Alight. Almost everyone raised their hand. I know that not because I am looking through your windows,…

Linked Apps- FitBit, Runkeeper, MFP
I am currently using FitBit, Runkeeper and MFP to track calorie intake, steps and exercise. For those of you who use these apps, which would be better to track your exercise like running and biking. FitBit will track regardless but on the FitBit Charge HR you can trigger it to record specific exercise.

Here's a list of personal soup, stew, and chili slow-cooker recipes I've made over time and saved. They're all my personal recipes (except for the split-pea soup) and they are all healthy along with being under 300 calories per serving (one of them being over). Here's the photos, ingredients, directions, and calories per…

My story of sweet revenge (pics)
I lied, my story really isn't about revenge. But, it started out that way. In 2010 my life hit a very low point. I weighed 217 pounds and my husband wanted a divorce. The entire four year marriage had been rough, so divorce was a bit of a relief. The downside of that was having to move across the country and back into my…

Eating and dieting while on 'vacation'.
I'm nervous. In multiple ways. My husband and I are driving 12 hours to go see his mother for the first time in I think 7 years. I've never met her, just because she lives so far away. They're a spanish family, and he says his mom can cook healthy, I'm just sure shes going to make comfort foods while were there. I'm just…

Long time maintainers how do you do it
I'd like to hear from other folks who've maintained their weight loss for several years or so. What do you do to maintain? What sort of lifestyle changes did you make while losing or after that made it easier (or possible?) to maintain your loss? And, are you active/do you exercise regularly? What works for you? Thanks. It…

Big breakfasts, small dinners?
Hey there. :) I've always found that eating a big breakfast in the morning, and smaller meals at lunch or dinner has worked favorably. Has anyone else found this approach useful as well? I was hoping someone could also maybe have a look at my food intake, mostly for breakfast, just to tell me whether there's anything I…

Running and losing weight
Hey Guys, is there anyone here who is doing the calorie count AND running successfully? The only way I ever lost weight was with counting calories. 1200 cal a week and it was working. But when I started running, 1.5 years ago, it was not working any more. Maybe the 1200 calories was not enough, or I just concentrated too…

Quitting Smoking While Losing Weigt
I have lost 20 pounds, about a third of my goal. With that loss I am already feeling much better but my original plan was to quit smoking at 25 pounds. However, as I near that point I become more concerned about the effect it will have on my weight loss progress. That is stupid. I know that to stop smoking will be a…
