
South Beach Diet and Low Glycemic (load/impact) Eating
We use the South Beach diet as a healthy and easy way to learn to eat right and lose excess weight. The actual SB diet is built around lots of vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds, whole grains, and lower sugar fruits, and if it appeals to you, lean meats, low fat dairy. It's NOT a low carb diet. And doesn't have to include meat or animal products.
Phase 1, for folks with a lot of cravings and/or more than 10-15 pounds to lose, is the most strict. It eliminates fruit and grains for two weeks. Phase 2, weight loss, re-introduces fruit and whole grains, and continues until you're at a healthy weight.
