Boob fat definitely weighs more than ankle fat. I've done a clinical study on this.

If you're comparing equal volumes, then the muscle will weigh more.
If you're comparing equal weights, then they will weigh the same and the muscle will take up less space.
If the muscle is on the moon and the fat is on Earth, then it will probably weigh less than the fat depending on the volumes of each.

When comparing materials, you weigh one vs the other with equal volumes. This also helps to determine density.
Muscle vs fat in equal volume..................muscle will weigh more.

If you have 5 lbs of muscle and 1 lb of fat... muscle weighs more.
If you have 5 lbs of fat and 1 lb of muscle... fat weighs more.
If you have 5 lbs of muscle and 5 lbs of fat... they weigh the same.

You can't compare equal of weights of something to see which is heaver as they will weight the same. You need to compare equal volumes. At the same volume, muscle will weigh more than fat.

Well, yeah of course.

A gallon tub of Cheese Doodles will weigh less than a gallon tub of cottage cheese. Of course at equal volume cottage cheese will weigh more. There has to be more of it to take up volume. But a pound of Cheese Doodles will be larger in size than a pound of cottage cheese, even though they weigh the same.

I misunderstood the context of the question.

It's pretty hard to build a lot of muscle in two weeks. But it's really common to retain a little extra water for a couple of weeks, which can cause a stall on the scale. Sometimes people mistake this for muscle gain, but fortunately it's just a temporary fluctuation.
