Welcome to the MyFitnessPal Community! Having community support can make all the difference sometimes. Feel free to familiarize yourself with some of the features new and old available in our community forums.


NEW - Polls 📊: Polls adds a new Discussion option: “New Poll.” Members can poll the community for their opinion, or thoughts on a certain topic. i.e. What’s the greatest sitcom of all time: Friends, Cheers, Wings, HIMYM, and then other community members can make their pick and comment on the poll.

NEW - Tagging 🏷️: Tagging is a feature that allows members to add keywords to new discussions. Tags help label specific content for improved search-ability. *New tags can only be created by staff members.

NEW - Questions and Answers❓(Only Available in select Categories): Q&A adds a new Discussion option: “Ask a Question.” When a member asks a question, other community members are invited to answer that question. For example, have a question about how to use the app or about a technical issue you are having? Ask a Question in our MyFitnessPal Tech Support Questions category.

NEW - Ideas💡(Only Available in Feature Suggestions and Ideas Category): Ideas adds a new Discussion option: "New Idea". Members are able to create a new Feature Idea that can be upvoted by other members. Please check out our Feature Suggestions and Ideas Guidelines to learn about how to post a Feature Idea.

Badges 🏆️: Badges are automatically given to members when they reach a certain threshold based on things like yearly anniversaries, number of comments made, and reactions received. You can see what badges you or a fellow member has received by clicking on the member's photo to display the user card.

Reactions 👍️: Reactions are a 1-click response to discussions and comments. Reactions enable members to indicate a response without typing a comment. They were enabled with the intent to provide an additional positive element to the forums and should be used in a manner that supports our Community Guidelines.

Notifications 🔔: You can view your Community Notifications by clicking on the Bell icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen on the web, or click on your user icon in the upper right-hand corner in the app to then display the bell icon. You can click on a notification to be brought to that post you are being notified about, tap "Mark All Read" to mark all notifications as read, click on "All Notifications" to see a list of all of your notifications, or update your notification preferences via the settings button.

Community Profile Page 🏡: The community profile page displays your badges, reactions count, as well as Discussions and Comments made by you. Visit your own profile page or another member's profile page by going to https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/profile/"username" or click on "View Profile in the user card when clicking on another user's photo.

Bookmarks 📚️: Bookmarks allow you to bookmark a Discussion to quickly find it at a later date. To bookmark a discussion, click on the Bookmark icon at the top of a discussion. You can view all of your bookmarks by clicking on "My Bookmarks" in the Quick Links menu, or click on your user icon in the upper right-hand corner of the app/screen and then select Bookmarks.

Groups 👯: Join or create a group with like-minded people to talk about specific topics, ways of eating, create challenges, and more. Groups can be public or private and must follow all of our Community Guidelines. You can quickly view just the groups you are in by clicking on "My Groups" in the Quick Links menu.

Events 📆: Events go hand in hand with groups. Use Events within a group to set specific times for members to come hang out, participate in a challenge, and so on.

Follow/Unfollow Categories 👀: Members have the ability to filter out categories in the Categories view as well as Recent Discussions by Following and/or Unfollowing specific categories. To do this go to Categories, then click on the three dots (...) next to each category you wish to follow and select "Follow". After you have selected which categories you wish to follow, you can click "View All" just above the list of categories, and select "Following". This will now only display the categories you are following.

Spam/Abuse Flags and Report 🚩: Members can utilize the Flag feature to mark a post as Spam or Abuse, or Report a post to the moderation team. Please review our detailed discussion on Flagging/Reporting and Warning Points for more information.

Ignore 🚫: We understand that not everyone will be on the same wavelength as you and sometimes it's easier to just not see their posts. Members have the ability to ignore other members and hide their posts. Please see our detailed discussion Ignore Users for instructions on how to ignore another member.
