There's no science to it. You can lose weight eating all day or eating in an 8 hour period. You can lose weight on a very restrictive diet or eating whatever you want. Counting calories is the most important factor to weight loss. Next comes activity, then macro nutrients. I know that many people with thyroid issues find lower carbohydrate intake has helped them. Medications work even better to keep thyroid issues in check.
