How often do you usually eat a day?

  • 6 times a day, sometimes more. 200-300 cals each time usually.
  • Usually three times a day. Breakfast @ 8-9 am, although I'm up around 5.30 (just have water, later coffee). Lunch @ 2pm. Dinner @ 6-6.30pm. Snack if I'm hungry between lunch and dinner. That's it really.

    Between 6-7am breakfast
    Snack around 9.30-10.30
    Lunch between 12-1.30
    Snack again 3-4pm
    Dinner around 6.30-7.30
    Then done for the day
  • Sometimes I only eat once, but mostly I eat twice a day with some small snacking, usually late at night.
  • I'm actually currently experimenting with this to find out what would be ideal for me.
    I used to eat 6 more or less equally small (calorie-wise) meals/snacks, but I never really felt satisfied, so lately I've tried mixing it up a bit.
    I've tried having a small breakfast, fairly big lunch, small snack, medium dinner, and then snacks for the rest of my calories. The big lunch seems to do good for me as I'll feel full/satisfied for much longer. :)

    meals of roughly 400-500 calories

    Last snack (hot chocolate and whipped cream and mini Marshmellows. Everytime.)


    I'm a constantly slightly peckish person so little and often works better for me. I did try 3 meals a day but I just gravitate towards the fridge or the cookie in starbucks anyway between meals.

  • i used to eat 5x/day but since cuting out grains, i'm just not that hungry anymore so now it's 3x/day. i also eat at set times - 7am, 1130-1145am, 530pm and have since 2012.

  • Not enough. I try to get three meals in, but I'm really bad at snacks. If I skip a meal, I end up grazing all evening.
  • Once around 1030-1130am then fast until the next day.

    11am - Snack
    1pm - Lunch
    3:30pm - Snack optional. As I get used to eating better though, I find I don't often manage this one too.
    7 or 8pm - Dinner

    Spreading the food out over the day works better for me than 3 main meals.
  • I don't have set meal times and eat when I'm hungry. Breakfast anywhere between 6am and 8am, then either lunch or a snack if I'm hungry before 11am, then typically something else around 1-2pm, then dinner around 5-6pm.

    So, 4 meals. I rarely do 3, as it's hard for me to go without food for more than 3-4 hours, unless I have a really big meal.

    It varies depending on my work/school schedule. 3 meals and dessert every day, a snack if I have time/calories, and a banana or Quest bar on weekends to wake me up before work.

    Banana/Quest bar 2:45-4:45 in the morning (I work at 5 on Saturdays and 3 on Sundays)
    Breakfast 7-10:30
    Lunch 10-2 (if I have a shift at work where I don't get a lunch break, I eat majorly early)
    If I have a snack that's 3:30-4
    Dinner 6-7 (and as late as 9:45 in the fall/winter)
    Dessert 8-10

    19:00 Dinner ~1000 cal
    sometimes I'll grab a snack in the evening after dinner, depending upon if I have any calories left over

    This varies in time because my lunchs and breaks vary. Also 2-3 days a week I get up at 5 am and swim laps, then ride into work with my boyfriend so those days I eat breakfast really earlier.
  • Generally twice a day. Morning coffee - 8am, lunch noonish (trying to aim for 500 cal), dinner 6/6:30 (1000 cal). I love large meals - more satifying to me. Small meals leave me wanting more - I never feel satisfied. I would love to aim for one meal a day around 6, but I get too hungry by noon.
