How often do you usually eat a day?
Hi,
I was wondering how often you usually eat a day? Do you have set mealtimes or something like an eating rhythm (eg like eating every 3 hours)?

3 meals, 2 coffee breaks (not including breakfast) and occasionally if I have the calories for it, a small snack. I do tend to eat around the same time every day. Breakfast around 8-9, lunch between 11-1, coffee at 2ish, dinner between 6-7 and second coffee between 7-8, accompanied by said snack (I guess dessert) if I'm having it. It's not so much an eating thing so much as an "I can't work out properly within 2 hours of eating" thing. I workout from 4:30 or 5 (depending on the day) until 6 every single day so I've just kind of arranged my schedule around that.
When I'm back into maint/recomp I'll probably add a midmorning snack and 'dessert' will be whatever I have left on my macros for the day.
It's taken me awhile to work this all out. I can't have a snack with my afternoon coffee or I cramp up on my runs, so I try to make lunch my highest carb meal. I also drink as much coffee as I do because it has a good filling effect for me, especially at night when I'm traditionally a snacking fiend. Water throughout the day as necessary but not within an hour of my workouts or I'll be stopping for a bathroom break halfway through.
It's all about finding what works for you and just keep working at it until it's part of your lifestyle.

I used to have a morning and afternoon snack, in addition to breakfast lunch and dinner, but now I just eat the three main meals. I think I was spreading my calories out, eating just enough to get by until the next snack/meal, and as a result I was never fully satiated. I have found that just eating a decent sized meal I am full enough to make it to the next meal without a snack. Especially if the meals are protein rich.
I eat when I am hungry. That is usually every 3-5 hours while I am awake.
Meal#1 7-10 AM usually
Meal #2 11AM- 1PM usually
Snack #1 around 3-6 PM
meal #3 around 7-8 PM
snack #2 between 9 PM and midnight

I eat twice. About 300-700 calories around 11am and between 1200-1500 around 6:00pm. I don't generally snack.
Once. Around 4:30-5:30 PM, about 1300-1400 calories.
Wellll, I guess you could count the butter coffee I have at like 5-7 am.

I eat two meals a day, breakfast or lunch depending on when I'm hungry, and then dinner around the same time each night. Sometimes I include a third snack/small meal if I think I need more calories.
When I log my calories it's no big deal how many times a day I eat since I'm counting calories but it's very important for when I don't log. If I'm only eating two meals a day, even if they're huge, it's almost impossible for me to go over on my calories as long as I'm eating proper food.

During the week I have
Breakfast at 730ish
Lunch at 1230ish
Dinner at 630ish
And maybe a snack like yogurt at 9ish
On the weekend all bets are off. I might sleep till 12, stay awake till 4am in the morning. Might go to the gym with out having breakfast so the first meal I have is like 1pm. More of a eat when I am hungry.

Usually three times a day. Weirdly, the more often I eat, the more often I want to eat. When I stick to three meals, or two large meals and a snack, I don't feel hungry in between, perhaps because I'm not constantly thinking about what my "next snack" is going to be.
Like every hour/1.5 hours...! During my work day, there isn't much time to eat so I just have a little food at a time. I've been using my lunch break to walk an then I have a huge dinner usually!
Generally, I eat three times. Breakfast at 10am, lunch at 3pm, and dinner at 7 or 8pm. Sometimes, I skip lunch so I have enough calories for a big dinner.
3 times a day. NoSnacks, NoSeconds, NoSweets, except sometimes on days that start with S.
(I do the NoS diet)
So I make sure my 3 meals are filing enough and delicious enough to carry me through to the next.

When I'm at work I have breakfast around 6am as I need to leave at 7:20. Then I eat according to school break times (the joys of teaching). We have break time at 10:30 then lunch is at 13:20. After that I don't usually eat until I get home, which isn't until after 5 sometimes. Yesterday we had a meeting, then I went straight to the gym, and wasn't home until 6:40. Today we don't have a meeting so I'll go to the gym 4-5 then collect my kids as my husband is on late shift, so I won't be home until 5:30.
I eat steamed vegetables (broc. and cauli mostly) and coffee during the day and have a decent size dinner. 90% of my calorie intake would be from one meal - dinner.
