Just started, have over 100 pounds to lose.
Hi my name is Holly. Six years ago I got clean from crack. During my first year of sobriety I gained 100 pounds. I kept telling myself that I would stop. I would say "I will stop when I gain 10 pounds" then it was "I will stop before I reach 200" but I didn't stop and little by little I started to hate myself. Then i…

my story so far! aussie bloke!
Hey guys. I've been on MFP for the last 3 ish years. My weight loss has been a serious YO YO since I was around 16. When I was 17 I was about 150-160KG, ( I am also 6ft4 ) I carried this weight until I was around 21. I started working in landscaping and gardening and my weight dropped off. I lost about 50kg. This was all…

Need to lose my three year old daughter!!!
Well, not her but her weight really. She weighs a little over 16kg, I need to lose about 15kg to get to my target weight. Carrying her around for long periods of time really hurts my arms, not to mention carrying her upstairs when she falls asleep. Hi, I'm Joanne, 35, married mum of four kids (3 boys and 1 girl). true caloric needs and metabplism
I workout with my trainer 3x a week, mostly calisthenics like squats, wood chops, rows, things like that. My BMI is about 48 now, and dropping at a pretty good rate. I am morbidly obese and trying hard to change that. MFP has my caloric need set at 1384 a day. I am type II diabetic and I am told to eat more often in little…

Feeling discouraged
Hey Guys, So I started to use MFP about 4 weeks and so far I have lost about 4 pounds. Yesterday I weighed myself and I was at 183.5 and this morning I went to go weigh myself and I was 184.5. Now I know that you have to eat a lot to gain 1 pound, and I know 90% of the time I will have extra calories left over in the day…

Does anyone know if your food logged onto the Fitbit app will transfer to MFP?
I have MFP synced with my Fitbit and my food is logged in there. Is there a reason that my food log won't transfer from the Fitbit site to MFP? Thanks!

Bulking Sanity Check Please (with numbers)
Okay, so I finally got around to plotting my calculated LBM as measured by cheap calipers against my weight gain. Do these numbers seem reasonable? The dotted lines are 21 day rolling averages; the points are measurements taken from the scale and the calipers. It's a three site measurement so I don't expect it's 100%…

Beans...who eats them?
I have been eating more beans lately. Like black beans in a salad or mixed with quinoa. My main source of protein is chicken. If I run out, I eat the beans. I always have them in the pantry. They don't have a lot of calories and they don't seem to bother my stomach. Do you eat them?

I lost over 50 pounds last year, but never posted. :P
This is what 176lbs to 123lbs at 5'4 looks like. :) I'd love to lose another 10 or so (I am a really, really small frame) But I look and feel so much better! I remember I had the worst leg and feet pain at my job, but after I lost all of it I took on a much more physically active role than I did before, and I have no…

IIFYM and carb cycling friends
Hey everyone I used to be on here ages and when I was I was very calorie restricting and did a lot of Cardio! I've been away and started to use iifym and kind of reverse diet. I am now maintaining my weight on 2200 calories. I'm ready to start losing a bit of weight now and I was going to introduce carb cycling so I can…

Are accessories worth the purchase?
I've seen watches/bracelets advertised in many places that promise to help keep you motivated by counting and displaying things such as calories burned, distanced traveled, heart rate, as well as to even become synced to your phone. I have a syncope which acts up when I decide to push myself physically, so I try to keep my…

Do you get tired of eating?
At 9:22pm last night I found myself needing another 500 cals to meet my daily quota (and that's only to gain 1 lb/week). I try to eat every 2 hours, usually 5-6 meals, and it feels like a full-time job plus overtime. It's real life stuff. It's one thing to get 1,000 cals from a take-out, but preparing healthy food at home…

My first triathlon.........in 15 months time
Yes 15 months is a long time but I want to lose 150lbs+ in that time. I'm going to take part in an Olympic distance triathlon. The swim, I have swam that distance before, albeit slowly. I'm not swimming at the moment though. The 40km cycle, I'm currently cycling 6.5km at a pace of around 24kmph. Is this a decent target, or…
